SMAC Volunteer Requirements

SMAC is a parent-run organization that involves a commitment from all member families.  We require every family to contribute, at a minimum, a certain number of volunteer hours depending on the group.  The full volunteer policy can be found here.  Volunteer requirements can be found here.  You can perform these over the course of the season.  If you don't perform these volunteer hours, you will be charged for each hour of shortfall (the charge per hour is listed beneath the volunteer hour requirements tab).  Please reach out to our Volunteer Coordinator with any questions.

In the event of more than one swimmer per family, the volunteer hours required correspond to the most senior swimmer in the family.

Volunteer Service:

  • Each family is responsible for completing a certain number of volunteer hours per year, depending on which swim group your swimmer is in.  In the event of more than one swimmer per family, the volunteer hours required correspond to the highest swimmer’s group.
  • Volunteer jobs are listed on the SMAC website under each event, be it a swim meet or a social event.  Each event will have unique job sign-up page accessed by clicking the “Job sign-up button” on the event page.  Follow the instructions on the sign-up page.
  • All volunteers must check in at Volunteer Table or with Chairperson at the event and sign in.  This is the only way your hours will be automatically credited to your account.
  • All volunteer hours will be posted within 2-3 weeks of the date of the meet or event.
  • It is your responsibility to make sure that you have been given credit for the correct hours by checking the website approximately two weeks after an event or meet.
  • Once the hours have been posted, if there are any corrections to your volunteer account, you must e-mail our Volunteer Coordinator with the following information
    • Name of event/meet
    • Date of event
    • Name of volunteer
    • Swimmers name
    • Job worked
    • Number of hours worked
