SMAC Chosen to Co-Host Junior Nationals 2019

Seattle Metropolitan Aquatic Club to Co-host Winter Junior Nationals 2019.

We are excited to announce that USA Swimming has selected co-hosts for Winter Junior Nationals 2019.  With the successful hosting of Senior Sectionals this past March and the additional growth of our club, this is an opportunity for SMAC to reach the next level of club development, and an opportunity for us all to shine on the national stage.

We will be partnering with Bellevue Club to co-host this meet and are looking forward to planning and executing this meet at the highest of levels.

Junior Nationals will be held at the Weyerhaeuser King County Aquatics Center in Federal Way, WA, December 11-14, 2019.  To have this marque meet in our LSC, and at a pool that our athletes are familiar with could not be a better chance for our athletes, club, and LSC to demonstrate what we can do. We are excited to see what our athletes can do with home pool advantage!

This is a fantastic opportunity for our team to continue to build a great reputation not only within Pacific Northwest Swimming but also on a National level. This event will have national media attention since this will be one of the meets that premiere athletes will use to qualify for Olympic Trials and, ultimately, try for the US Olympic Team just 6 months after.

Junior Nationals will be the largest meet we have hosted yet, so this will be a club-wide effort.  Watch for updates from Melinda Dickie for lead positions as we start to build the planning team.  We will need everyone's help to put on a great meet and to give all the athletes that will descend on the Seattle Metropolitan area a great experience to take home with them!
