SMAC Tryout Information

Seattle Metropolitan Aquatic Club will be holding swimmer try outs at the following times:
Dates:
- August 9 Evergreen Aquatic Center 12-3 PM
- August 14 View Ridge Pool 10:15-12:15
- August 16 Evergreen Aquatic Center 12-3 PM
- August 23 Evergreen Aquatic Center 12-3 PM
Please contact Derek to reserve a spot.
Before the evaluation:
- Families will reserve a 30 min window with Derek on one of the above dates.
- All evaluations will be individual unless swimmers are members of the same household.
Day of evaluation Procedures & Covid Precautions:
- · Swimmers will arrive in suits ready to get in the water. There will be no changing in the locker rooms.
- · Families will check in when they arrive at the table in front of the pool or via phone.
- · Swimmers will remain in their vehicles until called into the facility.
- · All family members and swimmers must be wearing a mask.
- · Swimmers must be healthy at the tryout and will be required to take a temperature check (100 or less) to enter the facility.
- · A single parent or guardian will be allowed into the facility with the swimmer.
After the evaluation
- · Coaches will give your swimmer an appropriate group assignment
- · Coaches will answer any questions you have about the team
We will likely not know our Fall schedule at the time of tryout. Covid-19 has caused many facilities we normally use to close, and we’ve been given opportunities to use other outdoor facilities in the fall. Currently we expect the 2020 fall schedule will be completed by the end of August with our actual season beginning between Sept 7-14.
We will notify swimmers upon acceptance to the team in late August. After a schedule is published we will reregister all of our current swimmers, then open up the club to as many new swimmers pool space and safety regulations will allow.
